The forecast was calling for rain and showers today, so I decided to get out early and make the most of the morning before the weather turned. At 5:30 am, I was already on my bike, doing laps around Lake Gwelup.
It was one of those beautiful Perth mornings when you’re reminded how lucky we are to live here. Watching the sunrise over the lake, with the peaceful scenery all around me, made the early start absolutely worthwhile. 🌅
But the biggest highlight of the day wasn’t the ride itself. My Great Cycle Challenge fundraising campaign has officially passed $5,000! 🎉
This milestone wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible generosity of everyone who has donated, shared my campaign, or encouraged me along the way.
One of the most rewarding parts of this journey has been seeing the people behind this worthy cause. Hearing your kind words, receiving your messages, and having people approach me to offer their support has been truly heartwarming.
Every message and every act of kindness reminds me why I’m doing this. And believe me, when the legs start aching and the bottom gets sore after those kilometres in the saddle, that encouragement becomes the fuel that keeps me going! 💪🚴♂️
I’m riding in memory of my beautiful son, Soren, and for all the children and families affected by cancer. Every kilometre and every dollar raised is a small step towards a future where more children can survive cancer and more families can keep their precious little ones by their side.
To everyone who has supported me so far: I cannot thank you enough. Your generosity means more to me than words can express. You are not just helping me reach a fundraising target; you are giving me the motivation to keep riding and making a difference together.
The $5,000 milestone is a wonderful achievement, but the journey continues! ❤️
If you haven’t had a chance to donate yet, there’s still time to join me in this challenge. Every contribution, no matter how small, makes a difference.
Thank you for being part of this journey and helping us kick cancer’s butt! 💛🎗️

I just hit $5,000 to fight kids' cancer! Thank you so much for your support.
I had practised and was all set to ride my bike to RAC Arena for Telethon. However, when I started thinking through the logistics — changing clothes, finding somewhere to park my bike, and everything in between — it seemed a little more challenging than expected!
So, I decided to split my cycling into two sessions, one in the morning and another in the afternoon, and drive to RAC Arena instead. It felt like a better plan, allowing me to keep up with my Great Cycle Challenge kilometres without arriving too tired to answer calls. After all, I needed to save some energy for the other important part of the day!
Last weekend was Telethon weekend, and I had the pleasure of volunteering at the Telethon call centre alongside the wonderful families of the Kids Cancer Support Group (KCSG). This was my fifth consecutive year volunteering, and the atmosphere was as fantastic as ever!
A big shout-out to Richard and the entire KCSG team for the incredible work they do in organising these events and raising funds to support families dealing with childhood cancer at Perth Children’s Hospital. Their dedication and the positive energy everyone brings to the event are truly inspiring.
Being part of this community is a powerful reminder of why these efforts matter. Every kilometre I ride and every hour spent volunteering is a small contribution towards a cause that means so much to me.
Thank you to everyone who continues to support the Great Cycle Challenge and the fight against childhood cancer. Together, we can make a difference, one ride, one call, and one donation at a time. ❤️
Every kilometre counts. Every contribution matters. Let’s kick cancer’s butt! 🚴♂️💛
